I’ve been to this hospital a lot and it’s the best out of all the inpatient facilities I’ve been to.

That being said, PLEASE HAVE THE RUDE ASS WOMAN WHO ANSWERS THE PHONE FOR THE MAIN NUMBER BE A LITTLE BIT NICER AND A BIT MORE HELPFUL. She doesn’t even say ANYTHING other than “ridgeview institute” and in the middle of me talking BOOM TRANSFER. Like come on lady I get you hate your job, but at least pretend like you care.

I was very disappointed at this facility. Some of the staff are caring and nice,90 percentage of the staff are rude to the parents. My daughter said she was cussed at and talked about during her three weeks stay. One of the staff called DFAC on my husband and I which led to a false investigation.Which the case was closed after the first visit. Most of the staff are snobs and only there to collect paychecks. If I could,I would rate no stars.I advise any parent looking for proper care for your child,by all means avoid this place. My child will never go near that place again .She stated she was mistreated her entire stay.

When I first came to Ridgeview I loved it. Then we lost our evening nurse, she was replaced by a sneaky little racist. See I worked on E- West an all female unit, I worked second shift. The nurse on E -west likes to make racial remarks about black people hair. She even offended some of the patients. The nursing manager is even worse, she is definitely a bigot!!!!! Now I did have the chance to work on all the units. And I never ran into any other racism at ridgeview, only on E-west. The nursing manager stated to me one day to go sing "Dixie" which is very offensive and racist towards black people. Ridgeview institute as a whole besides the unit E-West is good. But I will never be anywhere near a place that is racist. I mean if you don't have anything good to say, keep it to yourself.

I was 17 and thrown into a facility for the 5th time and I was lucky enough to end up here. The staff for adolescents have been through situations themselves and they use that to help the kids that come in. Some take their jobs a litte more serious than the kids like because they treat it like the kids know better. But if we knew better and didn’t have problems and things wrong with us, we wouldn’t be there. I was there for 9 days and it was worth it. The only place I got help out of my other visits. But it’s also a matter of who has this problem and who wants help. If you don’t want help, you will definitely not get it. They focus on those that truly seek help. And those that don’t want help, they get less treatment. I got out a few weeks ago and I’ve been really feeling better. I wanted to see how the help effected me after being out a while before I gave feedback and it’s also nice to handle yourself outside of the facility because they helped you enough and the way you needed it. But like I said, you will not be helped here if you don’t want it. The help they provide can only be accepted in by ones who want it. If you are dealing with something and don’t want out of it, but someone gives you there perfect opprotunity to get out and you say no, then it is on you. This place is wonderful. Nicest place I’ve been so far. So thankful. Bless this place.

I was a patient at Ridgeview in the women's trauma and eating disorder cottage. Most of the staff were pretty great. They were really sweet, helpful, and understanding. There were a couple of the staff and a nurse that was not, however. They would be very rude to patience and say things that patience there really don't need to hear such as "People with eating disorders disgust me. There are starving people in other parts of the world." Or "Y'all are too emotional for me." This stuff is not helpful for people trying to recover. Like I said, though, most of the staff was really nice. The food they brought up on trays was OK, but sometimes gross. The cafeteria food, though, was better. The beds were as hard as rocks. The showers had very little water pressure. There was a bunch of inconsistencies. This is probably the biggest complaint I have and that I heard from other patients while I was there. The management really needs some work. One shift would do one thing, then another would do something different, and the third something else. Nothing seemed to be on schedule either other than smoke breaks and that is only because the smoking patients probably would have revolted if they weren't. Haha. They do have some therapy and classes during the week, but I feel more therapy, perhaps even one on one therapy, is needed. There was a short group in the morning to just check in, a process group to process what happened or feelings, and either a class or creative expressions (Art therapy). And that was it. The best therapy I got from being there was really being able to talk to the other patients about their experiences and know that I was not the only one. So, overall, not a horrible experience, but it could use better management and more therapy. There was way too much down time.
